Bend, But Not Break
Inside the Bigelow Bridge, 1873 in Union County Ohio. I love the bending support beams of these old covered bridges.
Bobbins
Bobbins of thread wait for the next weaving project on a craftsman's table. I particularly liked these two in their cozy wood box because it looks like the white thread is reaching out to connect with the red thread.
Wood Box
A great combination of hammered metal and wood combine on this oval-shaped wood box.
Baby Bison
A baby bison sits in the golden grass. He was curious with me standing near and when he started to move, his mom reluctantly got up and the heard slowly moved around him.
Air Cooled
Rusty seat of an old plow. I wonder if the salesman bragged about the air cooling capabilities and how many vents it had when it was brand new.
Not Lately
An old Ford tractor sits in a field, reminding us all that it is time to change the oil before it's too late. Throwback advertising jingle; Have you driven a Ford lately?
Patchwork Barn
This barn had multi-colored sections which really stood out in the cool blue light after an early morning dusting of snow. I imagine the owners painting various rooms of their house over time and finishing off the last of the paint on the barn.
Old Friends- Winter
This is a modest barn in Union County Ohio with one lone tree. A late winter morning snow dusted the barn. I imagine what it might have looked like after the farmer first completed it and a small tree provided little shade. The little tree had wind blocked by the new structure and now that the tree has grown big and strong, it stands guard over the aged barn, doing what it can to protect its old friend. I'll visit again when the fields are green.

Iron Sides
The bow of the USS Constitution. Old Ironsides is undergoing a major renovation for the next couple years. If you visit Boston, stop to see it in dry dock as they work on it or check out online to see their progress. A great piece of history.
Our Colors

Gears
As a cyclist, I know how important gears are for distributing and magnifying energy. I can only imagine what this contraption near a marina on Granville Island in Vancouver had to do.
Loom
It must take hours to get the loom set up for making even a simple project. It is amazing to see the prep work that a craftsman must go through.
